Trade Show Executive 2012 Reader's Choice Award Winner!
The Consumer Electronics Association® (CEA) was awarded “The Most Innovative Organization” by Trade Show Executive magazine. The magazine also granted the International CES recognition as “The Most Innovative Green Initiatives by Show Management” for strides in “greening” the 2012 International CES®, the world’s most important consumer technology event. Trade Show Executive magazine’s 10th Annual Reader’s Choice Innovation Awards salute those who are making waves for show managers, exhibitors, attendees and the exposition industry as a whole.
Initiatives that lead to CEA being named most innovative organization in the trade show industry included its successful launch of the Eureka Park TechZone at the 2012 CES, featuring more than 100 entrepreneurs and start ups across a range of product categories, as well as CES’ new Entertainment Matters program, designed for the content and entertainment community and conferences and exhibits focused on digital health and fitness community. CEA also has made innovative use of technology and apps to communicate important information and show news to its global attendees, including the award-winning CES Mobile App and CEA’s use of CESontheTube for show highlight videos.
CEA implemented several green programs at the 2012 CES that included producing 190,000 badge holders from recycled 2011 CES vinyl banners and collecting over 80,000 square feet of vinyl and magnetic banners and show signs to repurpose and give back to the local community. The two 2012 CES on-site press rooms housed paperless exhibitor press kits, featuring exhibitor news via USBs, CDs or URLs, and the overall recycle rate at the 2012 CES is an industry leading 75 percent. Additionally, CEA donated $50,000 to Green Chips for solar panel installation at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission and another $25,000 to Repurpose AMERICA for sun shades at the UNLV Rebel Recycling facility.
