Check out a whole host of first-timers who are getting their products ready for you — and for the 2009 International CES, January 8-11, 2009, in Las Vegas. And they’re not the only ones prepping. So are a host of Major League Baseball stars. And if that’s not enough, we’re giving you 30 Days of Innovation: A Countdown to CES, featuring some of the hottest technology you’ll find on the show floor.
Gaming, Digital Imaging and Location Based Services Among 300 New Exhibitors at CES
Three hundred new first-time exhibitors are among the more than 2,700 exhibiting companies across a wide range of categories, including gaming, in-vehicle electronics, information technology, content and broadband service providers, unveiling new technology products at the 2009 International CES, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow. The product categories of gaming, digital imaging, entertainment content and location based services (LBS) are growth leaders for the holiday sales season and on the 2009 CES showfloor. New exhibitors in 2009 include such marquee companies as Blockbuster, Chumby, Electronic Arts, Eye-Fi, Huawei, Hyundai/Kia, Mattel, ooma, Phoenix Technology, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Verizon Wireless.
CEA projects 5.6 percent growth for the gaming category this holiday season, 6.9 percent growth for digital imaging and 30 percent growth in holiday sales for GPS/LBS products, with an increased showing from exhibitors in these categories at the 2009 International CES. Overall, the 2009 CES will feature 2,700 exhibitors from 30 product categories across 1.7 million net square feet of space.
“The 2009 International CES momentum is strong,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA. “In this challenging economy, our industry knows that CES is more important than ever to grow business. With each CES attendee holding an average of 12 meetings at our tradeshow, there is no better strategy for generating leads and jumpstarting new business than attending the 2009 International CES. In tough economic times, tradeshows make the most business sense and CES is the must-attend event of the year for our industry.”

30 Days of Innovation: The Countdown to CES
The International CES is about innovation. The most important technologies launched at CES, including the VCR, DVD player, HDTVand satellite radio. Why does the average U.S. household have 24 consumer electronics (CE) products? Because they improve our lives, and in times like these, making life good – especially in our homes – is more important than ever.
That's why this year we launched "30 Days of Innovation: The Countdown to CES," a window into the kind of technological innovation only found at CES. See 30 new CES exhibitors – a new one each day – from among more than 300 companies showing their innovation to CES attendees for the first time. But this is just the beginning. Imagine learning about next-gen technology from 2,700 of the world’s leading companies in one trip.
Here's a peek at the list from last week:
- Day 30 - Chumby: Cuddly and Functional
